{The sea farming salmon industry is really unsustainable.} {That really affects us,} {our future,} {our business.} {We really are scared for our future as fishing guides.} {Hello, my name is Áslaug.} {I'm Andrea.} {I'm Alexandra.} {And I'm Arndis.} {We are from Iceland and we are salmon fishing} {guides on the river Laxá i Aðaldal or Big Laxá.} {We are the seventh generation to be guiding} {on our river and it's a family business.} {This is my sister.} {They are sisters.} {And then we are all cousins.} Basically, {we were just born into a fly fishing family.} {And also,} {we just all grew to love our river and the salmon in it.} {We have always been working together.} {It brings the whole family very close.} {One, effect on the wild salmon.} {And two, because of how incredibly toxic it is.} {They are torturing the animal.} {And also,} {it's incredibly unhealthy for consumers to eat.} {Land-based salmon farming is a lot} {more sustainable and a better option.} {That does not threaten the wild salmon.} {It does not threaten our future.} {Every time we go to a restaurant,} {we ask if the salmon is land-based or if it's sea-farmed.} {And we advise everyone against eating sea-farmed} {salmon because of the toxicness of the fish.} {And the land-based salmon is a way more sustainable option.} {If you're buying salmon in a grocery store,} {you can always look at the packaging} {and see where the fish is coming from.} {Thank you, guys.} {Thank you so much.}
